Jun. 26th, 2012 11:10 pmDown by the river a rather large and recognizable form to many of the crew lounged seemingly deep in thought. His tail half submerged in the river, the tip swaying slowly. For once it would seem that one could sneak up on a seemingly inattentive, his expression hard to read, lost in contemplation of all that had happened since his awakening aboard the vessel so many months ago, of both the trying times and the fleeting moments of joy and contentment in the dark sea of desperate war. He had to admit at least, there were very few times that Sanction had been as eventful as the time aboard the Transmigration 9.
Would one leave such a dragon to his contemplation? Would they share in it? Or indeed would they draw him from it?

"I'd certainly hope not."
She salutes.
"Honor Harrington, Royal Manticorian Navy. Pleased to meet you."
Oh. There's a cute arboreal creature on her shoulder? Perhaps she should get that looked at?

"Dragonlord Crucible, also known as Lord Governor Hogan Bight of the Lord City Sanction.A pleasure to meet you too,"
The creature around on her shoulder drew his gaze with some small measure of curiosity, "And what are you then I wonder?"

"I would hope not."
She salutes.
"Commodore Honor Harrington, Royal Manticorian Navy: a pleasure to meet you."
Hmmm. She's seems to have an arboreal creature sitting on her shoulder: she should get that looked at.

Date: 2012-06-28 05:51 am (UTC)"Well met, Lord Sanction." She replies, using the Manticorian form of address for member of the peerage.
The treecat raises itself up on one of it's three pairs of legs and regards you with frank curiosity.
"His name is Nimitz, and he's is a treecat of the forests of Gryphon." Honor clarifies.
She leans her head to the side, as if listening to something.
"He thinks you're rather large."

"Greetings then to you as well Nimitz," he comments in turn as he regards the tree cat.
He gives a snort of amusement, "Indeed it would be odd if I were not in this form," he shakes his head a bit before a glow enveloping his form as it rapidly shrinks down to a far more human looking form, "Not so for this one however,"

And where did he get the nice clothes?
Nimitz conveys a slight sense of disappointment through her bond: he was hoping he'd get to ride the big dragon later.
He makes a 'bleak' noise.
Honor clears her head of science-surly thoughts and steps forward to Lord Bight's human form.
"You may have guessed that dragons are mainly figures of mythological import on my world."
He removes her beret from her head, tucking it under her shoulder, and examines Lord Bight with fascination. Nimitz does the same.
"How are you able to change your volume so quickly? You mentioned multiple forms of dragons...are they a variety of sub-species? Or are they more cultural distinctions? For that matter, how exactly does your physiology function in light of your various transformations–"
Honor never figured herself to be a woman fascinated by scientific pursuits. But acting like one has proven to be one useful way to avoid cracking under that strain of so many impossible things.
